He is performing and teaching music for past 22 years and he is the son in law of the founder of this Institution, Sri M S Ramaswamy Pillai and presently the secretary of this Institution.
His wife Smt J.Vijayamohana is teaching Barathanatyam and Director of this Institution.
He is teaching :
Mirudangam, Tabla, Pakawaj, Keyboard, Harmonium, Guitar, Mandolin, Sitar, Drums, Thumba, Triple Kango, Bangoes, Rhythm Pads. He is a performing artist in Mirudangam and Tabla for Bharathanatyam recital for the past 20 years. He has accompanied more than hundreds of Bharathanatyam recitals. Some important legends which he has accompanied, Kalaimamani Smt Anith Ratnam, Kalaimamani Smt Venniradai nirmala, Kalaimamani Smt. Parvathi Ravi Gantasala etc.,
He had got a great opportunity to accompany Violin Maestro Lalgudi Jayaraman’s Jaya Jaya devi Bharathanatyam dance ballet and got a great review in Sunday times of India Bombay edition September 24 1995.
He has performed in all the Sabhas in India. He has also written and composed Varnams, Padams, Thillanas for Bharathanatyam.
He has also written Dance Drama Subramanyam Shanmuga natha Subramaniam
which has sponsored by Tamil Nadu Iyal ISAI NATAGA MANDRAM and staged at museum theatre Chennai and dance was performed by Kalaimamani Mrs. Sindoori.
He learnt Mirudangam from the great Mirudangam legend Kalaimamani late V P Ramados and continued from Kalaimamani Thanjai A Natarajan (Presently the principal of Government Music College Adyar) and continued learning from Kalaimamani Nellai D Kannan, learned Tabla from Vastaad late Dhyanandh Prabhu, learned guitar from Mr.DAVID, and inspired Sitar from the Guru Z.M.SALEEM. And God gave him many great legends as gurus to tune himself, a good artiste and teacher,
Presently he is teaching more than 200 students from the age of 3 to 65 yrs and also taking classes at Ranjani Sabha Nanganallur for the past 12 years. He has given many performances with his students in various Sabhas in Chennai.
He has also worked as a music director to create an audio to Ramachandra mission Porur. Called [AAFTABE MARFAT], and also performed in many devotional audios recordings.
